Andy Lee

Trade & Investment Director, Tech (Americas) @ Government of Victoria

Andy is currently based in New York with responsibility for identifying and securing new investment opportunities across the Americas with an emphasis on technology driven industries.

Andy was formerly Senior Ministerial Adviser to the Hon. Philip Dalidakis, Victorian Minister for Small Business, Innovation, Trade and International Education where he led policy development across several sectors including innovation, technology investment, startups and telecommunication infrastructure.

Andy previously held senior roles at Telstra, Australia’s largest technology company where he worked closely with Executive Directors providing strategic advice on innovation projects, the National Broadband Network rollout and next generation products.

Prior to Telstra, Andy worked for the Australian Federal Government’s National Broadband Network Company (NBN Co) as an Adviser to the Executive of the $56 billion infrastructure initiative. The NBN was designed to provide fibre optic broadband to every home and business in Australia by 2020.

Before Andy worked at NBN Co, he was Head of Public Affairs and Marketing for US based iPrimus Telecommunications Group’s Australian operations.

Outside of work Andy is a startup mentor for Social Traders ‘The Crunch’ accelerator program, involved in building the League of Intrepreneurs movement in Australia and a founding member of the nation’s premier startup club the Henley Club.

Andy studied Communications and Public Relations at Victoria University, Australia and has completed the “Emerging Leaders” program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University in Cambridge.
